Sesame Seeds

Sesame seed is one of the first recorded seasonings, grows widely in India and Asia. These tiny seeds come in shades of brown, red and black. has one of the highest oil contents of any seed. With a rich nutty flavour, it is a common ingredient in cuisines across the world. The seeds ground with olive or any other vegetable oil to make a semi-solid, flavourful paste, which is then added to different cuisine. Sesame is an important component of Japanese cooking, seeds are largely used in the manufacture of margarine in Europe. Roasted and crushed seeds often sprinkled over salads, desserts, particularly sundaes and other ice cream based preparations

Sesame seed is one of the oldest oilseed crops known that are used in culinary as well as in traditional medicines for their nutritive, preventive, and curative properties. Sesame seeds are excellent source of copper and a very good source of manganese, but they are also a good source of calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc, molybdenum, selenium, and dietary fiber.
